A man in his 80's is on the mend from minor injuries, but his vintage car received major damage after being T-boned by a pizza delivery car, a Downey police dispatcher said.
The man was turning left in his Model A Ford from Downey Avenue onto Imperial Highway at about 6:15 Sunday afternoon when his car was hit by a Honda that was serving as a pizza delivery car -- whose driver was turning left from Imperial Highway onto Downey Avenue, the dispatcher said.
A video journalist at the scene said the impact of the crash pushed the Model A back onto Downey Avenue, and caused significant damage. He said the man had minor head injuries, but that the delivery driver was not injured.
