Anna Faris Gets Spotlight at Night at the Aero

There's some thinking around town that one needs to have toiled for decades upon decades before they nab a night of special screenings in their name. It's just not true -- any honor is nabbable once you've done some solid work, even if you're just a whippersnapper, or a few years past whippersnapperdom.

The cinephiles behind American Cinematheque may have had just this concept in mind when they planned Anna Faris Night at the Aero. It's two screenings -- her films "May" and "Smiley Face" are on the docket -- as well as an appearance by the director of "May," Lucky McKee. We're fans of both of her turns in "Brokeback Mountain" and "Lost in Translation" (she played a bubbly, bouncy actress who practically steamrolled a semi-dour Scarlett Johansson, you may recall).

No word if Ms. Faris, who headlined the very pink, very fuzzy "The House Bunny" last year, will show up for her own soiree, but you never know in this town. And even if not, expect plenty of Faris-y fun.
