He's banned from the Oscars. He's even banned from the red carpet. But Nicolas Chartier is not banned from a private party being thrown in his honor in Venice.
Chartier, who sent an e-mail out to Oscar voters encouraging them to vote for the "Hurt Locker," was banned from the Oscars after the Academy ruled that the e-mail disparaged a competing film, "Avatar."
"They are going to try to salvage the evening for him," blogger Scott Feinberg told Mekahlo Medina on NewsRaw. "I think everyone is showing up casually and he is going to show up in a tux."
Feinberg, of the blog And The Winner is..., believes the private party for about 100 people is being thrown by the chair of the William Morris Agency.
"I think he might be represented by William Morris. If he is not, he might soon be because it's sort of a nice gesture to throw a party for 100 of his friends," said Feinberg.
If Chartier gets tired of the private party, his crew can head north to WeHo where a plethora of parties will be going down.
