Fourth of July Pignic

Animal Acres hosts its annual holiday hoopla.

Animal Acres is surely ready to do a bit of celebrating.

The Acton-based animal sanctuary made headlines last fall when people and dozens of resident animals fled the Station Fire. The annual fundraising gala, due to happen just days after the fire, was postponed as well due to the sudden and surely stressful evacuations.

But all is well at the sanctuary once again, and Animal Acres is once again throwing its annual Fourth of July picnic. Or Pignic, rather.

What happens at Pignic? Well, up-close visits with the on-site piggery, of course, and the other beasties that call Animal Acres home. Plus a moon bounce, face-painting, soy hot dogs and coconut ice cream. And other fresh day-in-the-country haps.

Tickets are $10 each. The farm will be party-ready from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 4. Say hi to the hogs for us.
