“Friday the 13th” on Tuesday the 3rd

We're always fond of a solid clutch-the-seat-arms thrill, especially around October, so we're trying to goose ourselves into feeling the some February fright. That's because Dark Delicacies, that vampire-undead-monster-warlock-lovin' bookstore in Burbank is hosting a full-on "Friday the 13th" extravaganza on Tuesday, February 3.

So what if there are no flickering jack o'lanterns around or full moons? We've got the willies. That's because a host of people associated with the mega, scream-your-lungs-out franchise are showing (no word if they're arriving with hockey masks in hand or not). Several of the actors who've played big-screen baddie Jason are scheduled to appear, as well as producers, writers, and stars galore.

What's the reason for this Camp Crystal Lake-themed gathering? A signing for the documentary "His Name Was Jason: 30 Years of Friday the 13th," and even if you're not a fan of the franchise it should be an interesting look back for any film student on how a supremely successful horror powerhouse was put together.

Because how many sequels are there now? Like 15? We're not even exaggerating. Few series have boasted such staying power in a famously fickle industry.
