“Greek” Goes to the Roxy

Russell Brand will be there. So will Jonah Hill.

Rare is the meet-up between two major Los Angeles venues.

In part, of course, because venues don't go anywhere so much. It is also rare to hear a star perform songs from a film ahead of the film's release.

Both of those things are happening on Monday, May 24, when comedian/bon vivant/man-about-the-globe Russell Brand stops by the Roxy to rock the music from "Get Him to the Greek," which debuts on Friday, June 4.

"Infant Sorrow" is the name of the band from the film, so expect to see them at the Roxy. Plus a stop-by from Libertines guy Carl Barat, and Jonah Hill, who also stars in "Greek."

Will Mr. Brand's appearance be laden with strutting and posturing and outrageous songmanship? Why yes. Will there be free tees for early arrivers? Of course. Does everything begin at the not-especially-rock-and-roll-but-sensible-for-a-Monday-night hour of 8 p.m.? Indeed.
