On Tuesday at sundown, many Angelenos will begin lighting candles in celebration of Hanukkah, the eight-day Jewish holiday known as the "Festival of Lights."
The word Hanukkah means "dedication" in Hebrew and commemorates the re-dedication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem during the second century B.C. when the Jewish were victorious over the Syrian-Greeks.
