File Photo: Jimmy Cliff is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010. He will be performing at KCRW's holiday show Dec. 3, 2011.

A night of acoustic and full-band performances will grace the stage of the Orpheum Theater Saturday, Dec. 3 when KCRW radio hosts its “Are Friends Eclectic?” holiday show. Musical guests will include Iron and Wine, White Denim, Anna Calvi and Other Lives.

KCRW Music Director and host of Morning Becomes Eclectic, Jason Bentley, said he has wanted to do a holiday show for listeners for a while.

“What we do on the air every day reaches such a large and varied community across Los Angeles,” Bentley said in an email interview. “But it’s very rare that we get together under one roof.”

Reggae-based performer Jimmy Cliff is also on the bill to perform. Cliff has returned with his latest album after seven years with producer Tim Armstrong, Rancid front man.

The Belle Brigade will be at the one-night event. The Belle Brigade’s single “I Didn’t Mean It” was recently featured on the soundtrack of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” movie that premiered this month.

The doors will open at 6:45 p.m. with the show starting at 7:45 p.m. Tickets run from $55 to $200 with varying seat choices. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to benefit KCRW.

“KCRW is a public radio station so most of our funding comes from the listeners themselves,” Bentley said. “The money we make on this show will go right back into creating the KCRW programming our fans love.”

KCRW, an affiliate of National Public Radio, is a community service station based out of Santa Monica College. They feature a blend of music, news and cultural programming.
