La Bastille avec Les Poubelles

The rabblin' twins and Taix French Restaurant pair up.

Bastille Day is July 14, and while there are many fine places to get classic French dishes around town -- and still others, very nearby, where one might watch Poodles on parade -- there's only one spot in Los Angeles to see the Poubelle Twins.

Lovers of La Lucha VaVOOM know these jeune filles. They scrabble. They're tough. Sometimes there are flourish-filled accents involved, and vague references to Marseille.

The Poubelles will not be hanging around some dock on Wednesday, July 14, but rather they will be at Taix French Restaurant in Echo Park for a bit of performance and bit of cheek and Le Slap Booth *Chaud*.

Quelle racy.

The twins go on at 10 p.m., but Taix will be doing up it up all Bastille night long with a ne plus ultra feast. Think wines. Think escargots. Think Coquilles St. Jacques. Think Cuisses de Grenouille, or frog legs. There's more menu for the looking.

And note that the aforementioned Poodles will parade post-Bastille Day, on Sunday, July 18.
