Largest Pet Expo Anywhere Soon to Meow Again

Three days of everything animal.

First things first. Just because the annual America's Family Pet Expo is billed as the "world's largest pet and product expo" does not mean that pets can join in, essentially making the huge three-day affair even larger.

Nope. Because while the Pet Expo, which is returns to Costa Mesa Friday, April 16 through Sunday, April 18, is devoted to our devotion to our pets, pets are not permitted. So, set up Pumpkin's little bed and a water bowl and give kisses and promise to be home soon.

With no leash or carrier in hand, you are free to peruse new products -- think drinking fountains and hair sweepers and foods of all sorts -- and watch demos and talk to experts. There will be deals. There will be giveaways. There will be entertainment, like doggie makeovers and cat show courses and free flight bird shows. Police dogs showing off skills. And slithery critters all a-slither.

At 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 17 is something called Mule-A-Rama. Mules and donkeys. Do you even need to hear more? You want to go.

But let us not forget the giant adoption fair, too (including the "Parade of Adoptable Darlings"; instant lump in throat). Adult admission is $12.
