Madonna at Dodger Stadium

We got to thinking about how often Madonna has been in the news lately, but then it occurred to us that those times she isn't on the cover of the tabs is much rarer. But regardless of what anyone is saying/gossiping/envying about her, the superstar still holds her head up, dons her white top hat, slips into a form-fitting leotard and slinks onto another stadium stage to get fierce with the fans who've been following her for over a quarter century. Brava, lady, brava.

The singer/dancer/actor -- and we should also add filmmaker, with her recent directorial debut "Filth and Wisdom" -- is currently on her Sticky & Sweet Tour, which shimmies into Dodger Stadium tonight. Will there be a veritable cavalcade of athletic performers backing up Ms. M.? Naturally. Will Madonna, who just turned 50 in August, not only match them hip-thrust for hip-thrust but likely out-hoof them? You bet. That's why we're so fascinated. That's why, when we hear a Madonna song, it almost instantly evokes a particular time in our lives. That's power, and that's exactly what this headline-generating headliner brings to her big, big shows.

Also, would it be too much for her to rock out to "Ray of Light" if pos? Because that is one smoking song.
