Kentucky Derby Winner Tests Track at Santa Anita Park

You might have heard of that dark brown horse working out in yellow saddle cloth at Santa Anita.

He's one of the world's most famous horses -- Mine That Bird. The Kentucky Derby winner has started working out at the track in preparation for upcoming events, including next month's Breeders' Cup.

Regular California jockey Joe Talamo was expected to be on board for the first workout on Tuesday.

Opening day at Santa Anita is Friday. Mine That Bird will compete in the Oct. 10 Goodwood Stakes. Calvin Borel, jockey during the Kentucky Derby win, will take over for the Goodwood.

A $2 bet on Mine That Bird returned $100 at the Kentucky Derby in May. It's unlikely he'll go off at 50-1 next month.
