Valley Greek Festival offers free fun for Memorial Day weekend.

Greek fans will need to lace up their dance shoes and unbutton the top button on their pants as the Valley Greek Festival is rolling into Northridge this holiday weekend. The festival dance floor will be as full as your stomach after sampling all the cuisine at the various food booths.  This is going to be some Greek-style fun!

This year, the event celebrates its 36th anniversary as one of the longest-running events in the San Fernando Valley. It runs throughout the weekend at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Northridge.  Admission Cost? FREE-ninety-nine!  Now there is no excuse not to check it out.

The time-honored annual Valley Greek Festival has grown exponentially and boasts an attendance of more than 50,000 visitors during the three-day celebration.

More than 500 volunteers will serve Greek food faves, such as beef and pork souvlaki, gyros, loucanico, moussaka, pastitsio and spanakopita.

Don't fill up too fast. There are more than 48,000 delicious Greek pastries to satisfy your sweet tooth, but we suggest you share with other festival goers.

The festival also includes a Greek marketplace featuring specialty food products, as well as traditional Greek music, clothing, jewelry and pottery.

For more information, visit www.valleygreekfestival.com or call 818.886.4040. The event runs Saturday through Monday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 9501 Balboa Blvd. in Northridge.
