Röad Trip: Mötley Crüe Rocks Down South

Legions of outlandishly coiffed rockers of two (gulp) decades back may have stowed the mousse for the most part -- a sad, still-can-be-reversed development, in our opinions -- but Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx and the still heavily be-haired Motley men keep the dreams promised by those live-large '80s videos alive. The umlauts are still firmly in place, the look is still top-level, out-all-night-on-the-Strip rock 'n roll and the songs are loud, raucous and lookin'-for-fun 24/7. And the tats? Nikki Sixx got his bandmate forever-imprinted on his leg on a recent episode of "LA Ink" (we'd like to know who else would do that for a co-worker -- sweet).

The band is at the start of its "Saints of Los Angeles" tour, and while the name might imply the tour will be swinging by LA for its SoCal date, it is actually in San Diego (the Crüe also rocked a venue in the desert over the weekend).  So we're telling all our friends out there -- the people who never take off the ripped concert t's or skulls-on-fire rings, not even for a job interview with an investment banking firm (and for that, we salute them) -- to look into a train or a carpool or whatevs, but get down there. Rocking hard is good for the soul, and it feels like all of us haven't been doing quite enough of that lately.

Update: This bad boy is listed as sold out -- no surprise. So check the ticket sites before you gas up the van...
