It could be the biggest tour of the summer.
KISS and Motley Crue announced in Hollywood Tuesday, that they are going to tour together for two months, starting in July.
They haven't shared a stage since Motley Crue was a new band on the scene in the 1980s, and before that, Nikki Sixx was a big fan of KISS.
"Growing up," Sixx said. "I had a KISS poster, Aerosmith, and Sweet on the wall. For me, to go out and do this together, it's an honor."
And the double billing is an exponentially bigger show, said Paul Stanley of KISS.
"If it's competition, it's healthy competition," says Stanley. "We all want to raise the level. We all want to raise the bar. We're out there because it will push both of us to a new high, a new limit.
The only Southern California date on the tour is Aug. 14 in Irvine.
