Grab Your Santa Suit; LA Hosts Santacon, Santarchy

Massive Santa-bration to hit Los Angeles

Santas are taking over Los Angeles this weekend.

Ever year, hundreds of Santas wander the streets of LA causing mischief, debauchery, tomfoolery and other synonyms for naughtiness.

There are two parallel events this year: LASantacon and Santarchy LA 2010. Both are scheduled for Saturday.

The events are held in just about every big city in the country and many more around the world. The dress code is simple -- wear a Santa suit.

LASantacon, which boasts attendance of up to 400 Santas, starts at 11 a.m., according to its Twitter feed. The start location has yet to be announced, but we can at least expect a visit to Jumbo's Clown Room.

The event costs $20, which covers transportation (read: your "sleigh pass"), and a few other merry festivities ("games, refreshments, ponies…").

Tickets are sold out for this one, but if you keep your eyes on the group's Twitter feed, you may be able to register if the group opens up another block of tickets.

The other ho-ho-ho event, Santarchy LA 2010, is promising so much cheer "your head will explode."

That's a lot of cheer.

This one is free and promises a similar party -- tons of people in Santa suits getting into mischief. The event starts at 11 a.m., and goes "until Rudolph passes out."

Just like LASantacon, follow @santarchyusa to get all the merry details as we get closer to the event.
