The Bayer Advanced float is seen on the parade route during the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade.

Starting Tuesday, you are invited to experience the magic of the floral floats before they make their debut in the 2011 Rose Parade.

This opportunity will allow viewers to step up close and see for themselves the majestic beauty and splendor. You will see a variety of fruit, seeds, bark, grasses and, of course, flowers being applied to the floats by experienced professionals and hard working volunteers.

Tickets for the previews are $10. Children under five years are free. There are three locations to see the floral floats in their preparation stages.

    1. Rosemont Pavilion at 700 Seco St., Pasadena, CA 91103
    2. Brookside Pavilion (accessible to disabled visitors): Lot I, south side of Rose Bowl Stadium

    Dec. 28 & 29, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    Dec. 30, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    Dec. 31, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

    3. Rose Palace: 835 S. Raymond Ave., Pasadena, CA 91103

    December 28 – 30, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    December 31, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

After the Rose Parade, the public is again welcome to a showcase of the parade floats. The floral masterpieces will be parked along Sierra Madre Blvd. and Washington Blvd. in Pasadena and exhibited for the rest of New Year’s Day and into Sunday Afternoon.

Visitors are permitted to walk by and see in close detail the design and workmanship that goes into these floats. Visitors will be able to get a close as a few feet from the floats and appreciate for themselves the creativity and the imagination of the floral displays.

Tickets for the post-viewing are $10, and free for children five and under. You can also download, on iTunes, a Tournament of Roses-produced audio tour of the floats to listen to as you view them. This event is estimated to take about two hours and you are allowed to take pictures.

The floats will be parked along the parade route on Sierra Madre Blvd. and Washington Blvd.
