Slavin and Theron Talk Photo Benefit Book

The lauded photographer chats with the actress at the Annenberg Space.

Famous photographers and famous performers often pair up for magazine spreads or billboard campaigns. Sometimes they come together on important projects that raise awareness for a cause near to the artist's and/or actor's heart. And sometimes, if you're lucky, you'll get a chance to see the pair in person, discussing how the project came together.

That's exactly what's going to happen at the Annenberg Space for Photography on Tuesday, Oct. 11 when Randall Slavin talks about "REACH: 24 Portraits to benefit the CTOAP." His Q&A partner, and partner on the project? Charlize Theron. She's the "CT" in CTOAP, which stands for Charlize Theron's Outreach Africa Project. It's mission? From its site: "CTOAP is committed to reducing the prevalence of HIV/AIDS and sexual violence among the African youth by supporting and collaborating with organizations that provide preventative education."

Tickets for the evening go on sale at noon on Monday, Oct. 3; more tickets will be released on Tuesday, Oct. 4.

Mr. Slavin's portraits cover a wide gamut of well-known figures; Clint Eastwood gets a spot, as does Bill Clinton. The artist will present and discuss several of his photographs during the evening.
