Soak in the Arty Goodness, for Free

Weather's warming up -- well, incrementally, anyway -- which puts us in the mind of being outdoors, living la dolce vita, and artwalking. There are few pleasures equal to a warm breeze, a semi-chilled plastic cup of pink chablis, and no one sitting at a museum or gallery door taking admission. We're just welcome to saunter where we will, look at whatever paintings we want to, listen to music. Such a pleasure.

It's especially a pleasure during Art Night Pasadena. Major institutions like the Norton Simon and Art Center are on the stop-by-and-see-us roster, as are the Pasadena Library, the Pasadena Museum of California Art, and the Jazz Institute. From 6-10PM on Friday, March 13, fine art fans and tune buffs and lookie-loos are invited to stroll and shuttle and Metro-Gold-line it to several locations around that mountain-close jewel of a city. (Check out the map for the full rundown of stops.)

There's also a mondo bike event going on, and eatery specials at hopping spots like Akbar and Il Fornaio. We'll raise our glass of chablis to all that.
