Pretty much anything Rodgers & Hammerstein wrote had that special ability to sweep a viewer away.
"South Pacific" is up there, however. But adding to the romantic and transportive qualities of the Ahmanson-based musical are several upcoming events planned over the Memorial Day Weekend.
Like the Friday, May 28 Happy Hour at the Moorea Lounge at the Wilshire Grand, which is at 930 Wilshire Boulevard.
The "Memories of the USO" show, also at the Wilshire Grand, is the Saturday event. The Swing Dolls are performing; tickets are $40 each.
