Time to change plans if you have tickets for one of next weekend's SoCal Aerosmith concerts.
Fans with tickets to Aerosmith's Aug. 21 and 23 concerts in Los Angeles and Irvine are being offered refunds because the band has canceled its tour.
Frontman Steven Tyler fell from the stage last week during a concert in Sturgis, S.D., breaking his shoulder and cutting his head. As a result, the band decided to cancel the rest of its tour.
The band's website states:
Due to injuries STEVEN TYLER sustained last week when he fell from the stage during a concert in Sturgis, SD, doctors have advised the lead singer to take the time to properly recuperate from the accident that resulted in a broken shoulder and stitches to his head. In his current condition, TYLER is unable to tour and the band wants to give him time to get healthy.
The canceled concerts were scheduled for Aug. 21 at Staples Center and Aug. 23 at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine. Refunds are available at the point of purchase.
"Words can't express the sadness I feel for having to cancel this tour," said guitarist Joe Perry. "I am sure going to miss playing with ZZ Top, just as I'm sure the fans are going to miss seeing them playing with us as well."
ZZ Top, meanwhile, has announced two Southland concerts. The band will perform at the House of Blues in Anaheim Aug. 20 and at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip Aug. 21. Tickets for those concerts go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday at LiveNation.com.
