Thank You, Betty White

The longtime animal advocate is getting a celebratory toast.

If Betty White started personally showing up at all of our homes, and baking us bread, and doing our taxes, and suggesting we have a karaoke night, we would not be surprised in the least. Clearly this exceptional woman can do just about anything, and the many Facebook campaigns promoting her as a host of this show or that bear that out.

So it'll come as no surprise that, in addition to doing everything, Ms. White also is a longtime advocate for animals. With that in mind, Actors and Others for Animals will be honoring the actress at a 40th Anniversary Celebration in Universal City on Saturday, April 9.

Stars are turning up to say stirring words, and you just know they won't have to stretch; people who don't even know the lady have lots of nice sentiments to share. Her "Hot in Cleveland" compadres will be there -- yep, Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, and Wendie Malick -- as well as Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jamie Lee Curtis and Fred Willard and many more.

Tickets start at $175, and yep, they do go up. You could get a table for 10 for $10,000, and it comes with a photo with Ms. White. Hello, mantel. Hello, holiday card, in fact.

Get details, and find out more about helping the organization that supports animals, now and throughout the year.
