Instruments of Art is now open at the Westfield Topanga; the show closes on July 25, 2010.

It could be thought of meta, we suppose. A museum acting a bit like the people it features in its exhibits.

Because when you spotlight singers and bands, like the Grammy Museum does, and those singers and bands are often out on tour, as singers and bands often are, well. The road fever can be catching. Road fever being a good thing, of course.

And now the Grammy Museum, in partnership with Roland Corporation, has loaded up the proverbial tour bus and made for the Westfield Topanga. The name of the show is Instruments of Art.

What was unloaded? Photos from the museum's collection (never before seen, we should add, and all taken at the museum) and up-to-the-minute Roland-made instrumentia (that visitors can try out). We want a turn at the turntables, or perhaps the keyboards. Rockin' the mall, hey.

Instruments of Art opened on June 11, closes on July 25, and is free.
