The Grove Meets Grosvenor Square

Mary Poppins has a free spoonful of sugar up her sleeve.

The fall is the time of year to see big musicals take to the streets and the parks to put on a little razzle-razzlement.

We need look no further than the Thanksgiving Day Macy's Parade, but now we can look a lot closer, at least for an afternoon. Cast members from the Ahmanson-running "Mary Poppins" are opening their umbrellas and landing at The Grove for some free, stow-those-shillings song-singing.

The date is Friday, December 4th, the time is 3PM, and the place is the Park, which is now home to one enormous decorated tree. As always with free Grove events, arriving a wee bit early is always advisable; you can just grab a bench and people-watch if you're the first one there.

We still want Mary's lace-up, pointy-toed boots. That hat is nice, that talking umbrella amazing, but the boots? Haute couture meets no-nonsense nanny.
