If you're a person -- you are, yes? Good -- who likes to see interesting duos sit down for a conversation, and you're a person who likes great movies and television -- you are, yes? Good -- then Sunday, June 12 is what we in the business would deem a "bonanza."
(We're not sure exactly what "in the business" means here, but it sounds tough and TV show-like, so we're keeping it in.)
At 3 p.m. on June 12 J.J. Abrams and Michael Giacchino will walk on the stage at the Hammer Museum to get a little "Lost." Right. You know both men were in the thick of world-building and music-making for that slightly seminal series? Yes. Mr. Abrams co-created the show and Mr. Giacchino provided the score. Small potatoes? Not. (Let us also give props to Mr. Giacchino for also scoring "Ratatouille" with all of its le strings and le accordions and le such.)

If you have any pep left following that chat, and we would understand it if you don't, because enjoying something smart can take effort, stay on the westside and make for the Aero Theatre. Why? Because Peter Bart and Cameron Crowe will be talking about "Harold & Maude" and Mr. Bart's new book about the mob and Hollywood and risk-taking back in the day.
"Harold & Maude" will screen at 7:30 p.m.. We do believe that Mr. Crowe has said the 1971 corduroy-covered classic influenced his own directing efforts, so being able to watch it with the director in attendance is a rare chance indeed.
So if you want to sing out. Well. Sing out.
