“The Original ‘Glee'” Needs You to Eat Pancakes

Hollywood High's vocal group is raising funds to offset budget cuts

Hollywood High School's vocal ensemble H20 has been called "the original 'Glee.'"

But with budget cuts in Los Angeles Unified School District, the vaunted group is facing tough times.

"There's virtually no money at all for us to do our productions," said school vocal music director Stormy Sacks. "It's very sad."

On the morning of Saturday, Oct. 20, the school will host a $5 all-you-can-eat celebrity pancake breakfast to benefit the program.

Organized by the Friends of Hollywood High Performing Arts Center, the event will feature Sean Kanan, an actor from "The Bold & the Beautiful."

H20 will perform at the event as well, and proceeds will go the help fund this year's productions.

The event is from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the school, 1521 N. Highland Ave. (map). Parking is free; use the entrance and Selma and Highland avenues.

NOTE: An earlier version of this story spelled Sack's surname incorrectly. The post has been updated.
