The Museum of Neon Art's annual Holiday Neon Tour is on Saturday, Dec. 17.

The annual holiday lights drive? It's got some tried-and-true standards. The inflatable light-up snowman. The blue icicle lights. The multi-color bulbs that look like they're straight off a 1962 Rat Pack Christmas album (picture Dean Martin in a red cardigan).

But how about neon? That's a light that lights up at night, and, unlike the icicle lights and snowmen, it never gets taken down. So building an evening tour around glowy lights that stay up all year long, and giving it a holiday feel, feels very Museum of Neon Art to us.

Oh, and look at that: The museum, which is mid-move to Glendale, will be throwing its annual Holiday Neon Tour on Saturday, Dec. 17. It'll start downtown, around Main and 4th, and take in Chinatown and other sights.

Merry merry indeed, and an offbeat way to do the Saturday before Christmas weekend.

If you missed the Las Vegas neon road trip hosted by the museum earlier this fall, you can check out some grand photos here. The Lido! The 4 Queens Crown! Oh Sin City. You and your bulby sizzle continue to delight.
