Twinkles, Tunes, and 18 Wheels

Burbank is bringing the cheer, and it is on wheels.

Of all the different 12 Days of Christmases out there, Downtown Burbank's stands out as one of the sweetest entrants.

Sure, the city's "12 Days of Holiday Cheer" helps spotlight the city's shops and businesses, but that's certainly commendable, certainly in this "buy local" era. It also brings the festiveness over a dozen straight nights, and we've got no quibble with that.

Our favorite night of the twelve is just ahead on Friday, Dec. 9. It's when the Magical Christmas Caroling Truck makes its annual appearance, and if we told you it was a "sixty-foot 18-wheeler" hauling some 200 carolers, Frosty the Snowman, and other holiday convivialities, wouldn't you immediately cancel all plans and find some Burbank-based curbside?

We'll guess you might.

Oh, and wait: There's a "6,000-watt state of the art sound system" aboard. So bet you'll hear "Deck the Halls" from several blocks away.

If watching a mega 18 wheeler bring the yuletide joy to Burbank isn't your thing, something else might be. So check the schedule and get to our media capital before the 12 Days wrap up on Dec. 12.

If you and your own caroling party this year decided to rent an 18 wheeler to spread the good cheer, we definitely want to hear about it.
