Unicorns, Dancing Rats and a Famous Troupe

"The Nutcracker" swirls, like thick cream into a deep cup of cocoa, together so many of the things we love about this time of year it really is hard to count them all: dance, big, dreamy sets, fancy costumery, romance, dancers picking up other dancers and twirling them, snow, drama, sword-rattling rats... The Moscow Ballet, a company applauded around the globe for its inventive take on tales long told, celebrates these timely touches that audiences want and expect, but takes the play to another level, with look inspired by the painter Rousseau (think lush foliage and exotic fauna). Since we could linger before a Rousseau work for several minutes, the thought of it coming to life greatly appeals.

The famous troupe is only in La Mirada for a night, and the show is currently listed as sold out, but there is a wait list; call 562-944-9801 and add your name. Hopefully a bit of magic will be in store for you...
