Weekend: Wine, Wine and Wine

TOYOTA GRAND PRIX OF LONG BEACH: There are driving stars to see, and movies stars, too (Adrien Brody and Keanu Reeves have raced in the past; Mark Wahlberg has been chosen as the 2010 Grand Marshal). Plus fun extras, like Lucha VaVOOM performing. And above all, fast, really fast, cars, zipping around the streets of Long Beach. April 16-18

COACHELLA MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL: The headliners are Jay-Z, Muse, and Gorillaz; the weather looks not-too-sweat-producing; the crowds are expected to push 75,000+ each day. The dates are April 16-18. Again, you can roller skate at 2 a.m., but do not bring your roller skates.

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY VINTNERS' FESTIVAL: There's a visa that allows you to visit a dozen wineries and get all those tasting fees dismissed. There's a huge festival in Lompoc on Saturday, April 17. And so many more wine-drizzled delights. April 16-19

DISNEY FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL OPENS: It's happening over many weeks. There will be many tastings. Many book signings. Celebrity chefs like Guy Fieri popping by. The only thing left to do is make a savory schedule for yourself. Opens April 16

AMERICA'S FAMILY PET EXPO: The word "largest" is often associated with this Costa Mesa gathering of everything that barks, meows, and squawks. Leave your own lovey at home and spend time watching demos, getting advice, and exploring new pet products. April 16-18
