Ponies prance, and wines are uncorked, at Santa Anita on Sunday, March 29.

SANTA ANITA UNCORKED: A day spent at the Santa Anita racetrack is always downright pleasant. The SeaBiscuit-y-ness of it all, the gorgeous horses, that one-of-a-kind mountain-and-palms view from the stands. Oh, and the historic setting and architecture. Pleasant, like we said. Throw in a caboodle of wines and bites from area restaurants, call it a foodie/vino festival, and the pleasant factor goes through the roof. Or is that the starting gate? $60. Sunday, March 29. 285 W. Huntington Drive, Arcadia.

ALSO ON SUNDAY, MARCH 29: Dig through denim -- lots and lots of denim -- at the ginormous Warehouse Sale at the Convention Center; Lil' Wayne brings the "I Am Music" tour to the Gibson; and the ISU 2009 World Figure Skating Championships twirl off the rink at Staples Center.
