What You're Doing Tonight: April 2nd

LILY ALLEN: Fizzy, fierce and just the taddest bit foul -- okay, more than a tad, and we admire her for it -- are a few words that can describe loqacious Londoner Lily Allen. Many, many more words have been written about this Brit sensation, including quite a few during her famously public back-and-forth with blogger Perez Hilton. But overall, most of the words have been bursting with general kindness and compliments and rightly so. Lily is a fantastic storyteller, has oodles of swagger, and we think and hope she'll be dominating for a long time to come. And her new album is so fun and effervescent, even while it is delivering some well-aimed punches. Ouch. Thursday, April 2. The Wiltern, 3790 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles.

ALSO ON THURSDAY, APRIL 2: "Delilah" and other ditties from the Plain White T's rock House of Blues Sunset Strip; Postopolis discusses architecture and ideas at the Standard Downtown; and America Cinematheque opens its Film Noir Festival at the Egyptian.
