What You're Doing Tonight: April 6th

THE BIRD AND THE BEE: We're fairly sure that most people, when they're sitting in their cars on the freeway, daydream that their lives are actually movies, and that daydream-y movie is probably, like 83 percent of the time, a glossy, late 1960s affair where happy couples in love run around fountains in France, buying balloons and strutting about in tall, white patten leather boots. There's splashing. Sighing. A harpischord-y soundtrack. When we're having this vision -- yes, we're in that 83 percent -- the soundtrack is provided by local duo The Bird and the Bee. Though they ably take chamber pop and throw a big ol' fistful of powdered sugar on top of it, it isn't all sweet. There's edge, there's wickedness, and somewhere, we think, there's a man selling balloons by a burbling Parisian fountain. Monday, April 6, 8PM. $15. The Echoplex, 1154 Glendale Boulevard, Glendale. 213-413-8200

ALSO ON MONDAY, APRIL 6: Legendary psychedelic outfit The Moody Blues explore "Nights in White Satin" in Thousand Oaks; and Dublin rockers The Script stop by The Troubadour.
