What You're Doing Tonight: March 10th

THE PRETENDERS: Things that are delightful right now... Blooming jasmine. All those excellent happy hour specials. And the fact that the always erudite, say-it-like-it-is Chrissie Hynde is blogging about being on tour. The frontwoman -- a word we've always taken a shine to, frontwoman -- of The Pretenders brings the same panache to her blogging that she does to her songwriting, no doubt about it. She's outspoken, talking about her age (a mere 57), her frustration with computers, a sick bandmate, opinions. Chrissie, you're fab. And, truly, all The Pretenders continue to do right by Ohio on a daily basis. One wish, though: We don't care that it is kind of a Christmas-y song, we're hoping they'll do "2000 Miles" on their LA stop. Tuesday, March 10. The Wiltern, 3780 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles. 213-380-5005

ALSO ON MARCH 10: Folk-inflected Brooklynites Akron/Family open a three-night gig at the Steve Allen Theater. Happy, electronic Australian popsters Cut Copy bop into the Music Box at the Fonda. And the Grindhouse Film Festival is on at the New Beverly (screening: "Encounters of the Spooky Kind 2" and "Skinny Tiger and Fatty Dragon").
