Old-school soul artist Raphael Saadiq is at the House of Blues Sunset Strip on Monday, March 2

RAPHAEL SAADIQ: His vintage vibes and sunny, summer-afternoon beats sound like they might be wafting by from a hi-fi circa 1967, but there's something contemporary to this soulful balladeer's ditties. Plus, they're lilting and sweet and full of joy and just made for a slow dance, or humming along to while driving around with your friends. The former Tony! Toni! Toné! singer is at the House of Blues Sunset Strip. Monday, March 2, 8PM Door. 8430 Sunset Boulevard, West Hollywood. 323-848-5100

THE GUITAR GENERATION: For people who grew up with seriously forceful, arena-style hard rock, Paul Gilbert, along with guitarists
George Lynch (yep, of Dokken) and Poison's Richie Kotzen, completely rules fast guitar. We're sure we can't be the first to say
he makes the frets fret, but we have to anyway. If you want to see his super-speedy-quickity skills, and the rocking prowess of both
Lynch and Kotzen, they're all over the internet (with major viewage on YouTube), but we say go eyeball the music magic in person.
