Ben Folds kicks it out on the keyboard at The Wiltern, on Friday, November 14.

"WAY TO NORMAL" GUY: Piano maestro Ben Folds rocks the sounds of his new album at the Wiltern Theater. We're up in the air about what we'd like more: a few rounds of the lively ditty "Zak and Sara" (one of the best songs of the Oughts) or a grinning cameo by former Folds collaborator William Shatner. Could a rousing rendition of "Mr. Tambourine Man" just about make our weekend? We think it might. Friday, November 14, 8PM. $32.50. 3780 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles. 213-380-5005

A NIGHT IN SIN CITY OF THE '60s: If you've ever gone looking for the shag-carpeted, smoke-clouded Las Vegas of 1961, you know it can be infrequently found in some of the Strip's back lounges. Or you can find the spirit of that time in West Hollywood at "Louis & Keely Live at the Sahara," a duet-filled tribute to the great entertainers Louis Prima and Keely Smith. If you've got Rat Pack wear, we recommend donning it for this snazzy show. Thursdays-Sundays through December 21. $34.99. Matrix Theatre, 7657 Melrose Avenue, West Hollywood

THE SOUP KITCHEN: The Edison is dishing up melty, gooey grilled cheese sandwiches and bowls of hot sustenance, not to mention powerful-strong sips at 1930s prices (a nod to the current financial headlines, of course). A quarter of the proceeds go to charities around LA. Fridays, 5-7PM. The Edison, 108 W. Second Street, Los Angeles. 213-631-0000
