Was it just last year around this time that hordes of "Thriller"-loving zombies took over LA Live?
It was indeed. So the idea that hundreds of people, dressed as superheroes, will be hitting the downtown complex in attempts to break a Guinness World Record on Saturday, Oct. 2 doesn't in anyway befuddle. Or even fuddle.
Seem natural, right? To see superheroes out walking the streets of Los Angeles? But some 1,500 superheroes -- the number expected -- will surely turn a masked head or two. And the fact that Will Ferrell will be there to preside -- he's "Megamind," which is also the name of the soon-to-be-released Paramount Pictures film -- and so will Guinness-y people who will be carrying some sort of official certificate.
The record everyone is going for, if you haven't guessed by now, is "Largest Gathering of Superheroes." All caps.
We saw this one on yelp.com, and we also saw that you'll need to email ahead of time if you want to participate. Superheroes have emailing capacity, right? It isn't all flying here and there. Sometimes you need to message ahead.
Note that registration starts at 8 a.m. on Oct. 2, so don't stay out too late on Friday night, um, punching planets that may or may not be evil.
