Wine, Whiskey and Song

We've got a bit of cowboy spirit we like to pull out now and then, so when the Autry National Center throws a real whoop-di-do, we saddle up pronto and make for Griffith Park. Wine, Whiskey and Song is an ongoing series celebrating the convivial part of life on the range (as opposed to the dusty-hard riding-no town for days part). This Saturday's event focuses on beer rather than wine or whiskey, but the song will definitely play a major, musical part.

Angel City Brewing is behind the bottles (we've always been partial to the Culver City fave's lagers, as they are light and luscious), and the Mary White Band is providing the kick-up-your-spurs tunes. We also like that the Autry stays open later during the event to let attendees, after they've tired of boot-scootin' and raising a holler, to stroll through and look at the amazing artifacts inside.

Standing outside the Autry as evening falls and gazing at the surrounding park is one of our favorite bits. It's like being at a backyard party of a friend who just happens to have the biggest backyard in the entire city.
