Fashion Heist Suspect Busted

Police are accusing a Los Angeles woman of having a criminal eye for fashion.

Julieta Pimentel, 48, allegedly stole $155,000 worth of designer handbags, luggage and clothing from a FedEx truck parked outside a Wendy's restaurant in Glendora, police say.

Pimentel was arrested Monday at her apartment the 100 block of S. Occidental Boulevard in Los Angeles, said Glendora police Lt. Tim Staab. She was booked on suspicion of receiving stolen property, and held on $20,000 bail.

Glendora police detectives received a tip that a woman was selling stolen items from the apartment on South Occidental Boulevard, and obtained a search warrant, Staab said.

Investigators recovered more than 300 items stolen from the FedEx truck on Sept. 23, Staab said.

The items included designer bags, purses, luggage and clothing -- new with tags still attached -- and the brands include Juicy Couture, Coach, Dooney & Bourke, Express, Tommy Hilfiger, Frederick's of Hollywood, North Face, Guess, True Religion and Abercrombie & Fitch, Staab said.
