An Ice Cream Scoop for Cents — 31 Cents

Baskin-Robbins, ice cream, you, a good cause

Oh May Gray. Or June Gloom. Whatever nickname you want to go by. You're early this year, is the thing.

But though we're having some rather intense April Overcast, we're having our ice cream, too, even if we need to don a parka to do so. That's because the famous 31 Cent Scoop Night returns to Baskin-Robbins on Wednesday, April 28.

The name says much -- you'll get an ice cream scoop for mere pennies. But here are a few more things you'll need to know: the hours are 5-10 p.m. You'll want to check participating stores, as with any mega restaurant event.

And proceeds will support the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. In fact, the ice-creamery will donate $100,000.

So sweaters on, Los Angeles. April Overcast or not.
