Buy a Burger, Help a Garden

Burger Lounge celebrates its Beverly Hills opening by giving back.

Sure, we like the streamers and the balloons and the smiling person who stands at the door handing out menus and hellos.

But an opening day at a restaurant can do a lot more than hang up the decorations. A little giving back is a fine way to honor an opening, too, and that's what San Diego's own Burger Lounge is set to do from Wednesday, July 25 through Friday, July 27.

Visit the new Beverly Hills location during those three days, order a specific dish, and watch all proceeds from the buying of that dish go to the student-run garden at John Muir High School in Pasadena.

The Lounge Burger is the Wednesday dish, the Organic Quinoa Salad is Thursday's pick, and the All-Natural Turkey Burger is the Friday choice.

The Muir High School program "is intended to educate students and provide them and local residents with access to fresh, local produce."

The other LA location of the certified green San Diego company is in West Hollywood, but note that you'll want to visit the Beverly Hills restaurant if you want to participate in the Muir donation.

In unrelated but still tasty burger news, Mohawk Bend is hosting a Vegan Burger Showdown on Monday, July 30. And it is Burger Week over at the Larchmont Grill. We'll take a Crabby Burger, please.
