    Enjoy a dozen oysters and some sparkly bevs at the Bluewater Grill on Tuesday, February 10.

    Let's see, bitter chocolate. Fiery chiles. Various spices. Oh yes, and Mr. Oyster, our salty, slurpy, slightly jiggly friend of the waves. There are many foods called love-enhancing, or love-inducing, or love-helping-along-ing out there, but oysters tend to rank high on various lists. Not that we've ever seen one of these lists in anyone's drawer, but just about everyone has the "love foods" round-up committed to memory. We still have "rice pudding" on ours, but, well, why not?

    And so it is fitting that just days before the loviest day of the year Bluewater Grill would be featuring the blush-causing bivalve on a special menu. The Oysters & Champagne Tasting, happening on Tuesday, February 10 at the Tustin, Redondo Beach and Newport Beach locations of the Bluewater, boasts a bevy of raw, oh-so-ocean-y bites and bubbly to boot. You can choose your drink -- a selection of Schramsberg champagnes are on the menu, as is a tasting of draft beers -- as well as a dozen oysters on the half shell. And those beauties hail from the Eastern seaboard -- think Nova Scotia -- as well as Washington State and other points.
