Drink This: Hot-Chocolate-on-a-Stick

Drink This is NBCLA's weekly taste of local sips

Your job: get to the bar. Our job: Help you find that perfect drink. This week, NBCLA's "Drink This" journey takes us out for...

Hot Chocolate-on-a-Stick: We found it at the Petrossian online shop; you may know the Petrossian Cafe in West Hollywood.

The deal: It's a delicious hexagon of cocoa-sweet goodness, straight from Belgium, with a stick on the end for maximum swirling pleasure.

Oprah: Petrossian's site says she's a fan.

Dark chocolate and hazelnut: Do you sometimes say "filbert" for "hazelnut"? We all do, when we want to feel fancy.

Price: $18 for six squares.

Petrossian Cafe: You may know the West Hollywood caviar central for its New York and Bellagio-based cousins. For its fine Belugas and bubblies. But here are two more things to know: one, the hot-chocolate-on-a-stick one can purchase via Petrossian online. And two, the cafe has joined dineLA's winter Restaurant Week; its prix fixe lunch is $28, dinner is $44. The unusual hot chocolate is not on the menus, but here's what is: Black Truffle Mac 'n Cheese, Croque Monsieur, borscht, Tsar-Cut Salmon Sampler. We're quite sure we've never ordered anything with "tsar" in its name. Time to remedy that.

Do both: Order the stick-attached sweet online, then make for West Hollywood for borscht.
