Eat This: Emmys Entree

Eat This is NBCLA's twice-weekly look at the best meals in town.

Your job: Get to the restaurant. Our job: Help you order. This week, NBCLA's Eat This journey takes us out for...

Emmy Eats: Each and every year the Governors Ball menu -- the sumptuous, be-foam'd and be-flower'd selection of what will be served to the celebs following the Emmys -- is presented with great fanfare. And every year both television devotees and table devotees think, yep, I'd love to try that. Now you'll be able to, at Pinot Bistro in Studio City.

What's on it: A first course devoted to "the flavors from the Farmers Market" (read: sweet peppers, eggplant caviar, medjool dates, more fresh tasties). The second course includes filet mignon and polenta ravioli. There is pinot noir sauce involved with this. Yes. And finally, the sweet: a milk chocolate fantasy from Dove with raspberry creme and yuzu gelee. Oh, and mint lollipop. Suck on that in your ballgown. (We would.)

Price: $60 (sans drink, tip, tax)

Availability: September 21st through the 26th. So, everything starts the day after the Emmys. We say soak up all the televised ball scene on Sunday night, and then primp yourself the following Tuesday or Wednesday for a little glittery gormandizing.

Idea: If you're an Emmy winner, and you attend the Governors Ball, why not make for Pinot Bistro the next day? Try out the meal twice. Compare/contrast. This feels bloggable, or tweetable, if that's your thing. And, increasingly, it is.
