Malibu: A year or so ago we mentioned the upcoming addition to the Malibu Pier, Ruby's Shake Shack, which was slated to open last July. Unfotch, a slew of delays stalled the project, but we just got word that the oceanside cafe officially opens June 28. Situated in a historic 1940s building, the Malibu outpost marks location number five for the eatery, and rumor has it that there is a secret menu with two secret menu items, The Malibu Mudpie Shake and Beach Burger, that one must ask for. Ruby's Shake Shack was conceived by the company behind the Ruby's Diner chain and the Beachcomber Café at Crystal Cove in Newport Beach, so it's no surprise that the regular menu includes typical diner fare ranging from burgers to (surprise, surprise) shakes.
