The recall involves packages of ground beef, ground beef patties, ground beef taco and chili.

Los Angeles-based Commercial Meat Company, Inc. voluntarily recalled more than 377,000 pounds of ground beef Tuesday that tested positive for E. coli contamination.

“The pathogen was detected as part of routine testing and we’re reclaiming this product to assure the utmost safety of our customers,” said Commercial Meat Company Controller Neil Brown.

The affected ground beef was produced between Sept. 7 and Oct. 6 and was shipped to restaurants in California and neighboring Nevada, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

    No illnesses have been reported.

The recalled products include various-sized packages of ground beef, including ground beef patties, taco and chili. The affected meat packages can be identified by the establishment number “EST. 4873” inside the USDA inspection mark.
