If we had known that today would deliver us a chance to use the term "boo-fet" rather than "buffet," we would have been heartened. Gladdened even. Those chances don't come around every day.
So we're going to use it as much as we possibly can in the next few minutes. Here goes: Knott's Berry Farm is serving up a special Pre-Scare Boo-fet during its 2010 Knott's Scary Farm Haunt, which opens on Friday, Sept. 24.
What does this mean? You know what it means, if you've called SoCal home longer than a week: Mrs. Knott's known-far-and-wide fried chicken dinner. Plus other eats, like you-peel-eat shrimp, and salads, and such. You'll eat all of this at the Spur Chophouse in the theme park's Ghost Town area, but you'll need a special ticket. To the boo-fet. (We hadn't used boo-fet at all in that paragraph and it felt lacking.)
The Pre-Scare Boo-fet specifics: You'll need to have a ticket to the main Haunt event. You'll also need to make a reservation to the Pre Scare Boo-fet, and the dinner price is not included in the Haunt ticket. Dinner seatings are 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 6 p.m. After you eat, you'll get in early to the Haunt.
Score.
Dinner is $20.99, and you'll get something souvenir-like to enjoy later. Again, this is probably an ahead-of-time reserve deal, if you're wanting to go. The tagline on this is "Munch with the Monsters," and we don't know how anyone could pass that up.
