When Jennie Cook's Double Dutch Dinette closed in July, the chef and caterer was a little bitter about the rising rents in now-hot Culver City. After telling Cook she can leave if she didn't like it, the landlord might be feeling a little pressure with this empty space on his hands: Just look at that giant "available" signage. The location is just a few blocks from all the new and popular spots like Fraiche, Gyenari, Rush Street, with plenty of foot traffic. You'd think someone would want to swoop in and grab such a hot property. Of course in this economy, "hot" doesn't mean what it used to. As usual, we'll take any news/gossip on progress here.
