There may come a day in our rather vast and eatery-laden city where full-on, week-long restaurant weeks focus on specific streets or even blocks.
It could happen, right? We all know that one particular stretch that has like seven or eight really funky diners or cafes. And we all know it could maybe use a few new fans drawn by a week of good specials.
That day isn't quite here, but a few of LA's many distinct communities and cities do throw their own special-rife weeks. Next up? Pasadena, which, no shocker, happens to be home to some really tasty venues.
Pasadena Restaurant Week will go down from Sunday, March 25 through Friday, March 30. Over 40 places are on board including Maria's Italian Kitchen, El Cholo, and Quadrupel Brasserie. And because we know you'll ask us, and we just want to anticipate the question, yes, Pie 'n Burger is on the list.
Honest now. Is it a major Pasadena eating event if the California Boulevard-based bastion of all that is good and burgery not included? There's only one answer and it begins with "no, it is not."
The deals vary, but expect the menus to run $15 to $44 (lunch is traditionally less with restaurant weeks). There is also about a half dozen new restaurants listed, so check 'em out. What better time to sample than when you're saving a bit of money?
