Here we are once again with a rousing Plywood Report. See something coming along in your neighborhood? Tips and photos are welcome.
HOLLYWOOD: Well we thought Club Sushi looked like it was coming along inside, until we compared the above photo to the one we took in August---not much different. There is, however, a brand new Club Sushi and "now hiring" sign on the front. Word from the Hermosa Beach original is that the Arclight location will "hopefully" open sometime in November (not summer 2008, not summer 2007, and certainly not summer 2006.) [PLYWOOD]
HOLLYWOOD: Here's at least one of the retail tenants at the 7950 Sunset building at Hayworth: The healthy fast-food, meatless burger, hot dog and sandwich joint, Zen Burger. With one location in New York, the company plans 1,500 outlets across the U.S. in 10 years. The WeHo location will open in early 2009. [PRE-PLYWOOD]
SOUTH PASADENA: Cupcakes are still hot: Eating L.A. spotted signage for My Sweet Cupcake, which has dibs on a Mission Street location next to Gracie market. [PLYWOOD]
PICO-ROBERTSON: A reader queried about a new froyo place on Robertson near Pico, and another gave us the answer: Toppings Yogurt, a self-serve spot, will open on October 11. All sorts of flavors, toppings (including kosher toppings), and...waffles. [POST-PLYWOOD]
